Although our church building (dated to 1830) may be one of the oldest in Nelson County, our outlook is modern and welcoming. We gather for worship and fellowship every Sunday morning at 10 AM and follow the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer.

Each Sunday, we will have in-person worship services inside the Church at 10:00 a.m. We will also livestream our services beginning at 10:00 AM on our Facebook Page.  We also save the service video on Facebook for viewing during the week.  The services follow Rite II in the Book of Common Prayer.

Youth Sunday School (for any age) starts at 10:00 AM.  The children’s lessons focus on God’s love for us, our love for God and loving one another. The lessons follow the Church Calendar and tie in with the lectionary readings that are read in Church each Sunday morning. Crafts, plays, videos and games augment the lessons.

In case of changes in services due to inclement weather and other unusual circumstances, use the Contact Page.

Getting involved: We are a small church that thrives on the participation of all who attend.

The Altar GuildĀ is a loving group of folks who prepare the altar every Sunday for worship. The Altar Guild prayerfully prepares for Eucharist, takes care of the altar linens, flowers on the altar, and the sacristy. We also gather for feast days such as Christmas and Easter to ā€œdecorateā€ the church. We always welcome volunteers to help.

Lay ReadersĀ are a key part of our regular worship services. One doesn’t have to be ordained to play a role in regular worship. From leading morning prayer, to reading Bible texts at regular services, carrying the cross (and flags on special occasions), and helping the priest prepare for Holy Communion, both young and old contribute to the richness of our weekly gatherings.

Ā

The Pancake Supper: the traditional lead-into Lent, is held every year on Shrove Tuesday. This event is ā€œmannedā€ by the men of the church and contributions generally go to Boy’s Home in Covington, Virginia. The supper is open to the general public.

The grounds of the church are a peaceful place for meditation and memorials.Ā  Please visit and walk our Labyrinth in the Church Cemetery. There is a kiosk with information about the Labyrinth located at the entrance. The Labyrinth is on theĀ National Registry of Labyrinths.

Ā

The cemetery memorializes many of those from the church and otherwise associated with the church. The Never Forget Rose and Memorial Garden is a carefully tended part of the grounds, with flowers for inspiration and a bench for contemplation. The sanctuary of the church is open 24 hours for prayers and serenity.
